CAL was 3-6 with three games left in the season. The Golden Bears needed to go 3-0 to get a bowl game, and they did just that. The locker room is on cloud nine, and the players are excited for this game. Texas Tech also finished 6-6 but had many more opt-outs. Just about every top receiver is in the transfer portal. The Red Raiders will run the ball with Tajh Brooks, but their passing game will struggle. CAL has two key players on their defense, but they were a bottom-of-the-barrel unit regardless. Tonight’s game is about which team has massive momentum. Take CAL.

Notre Dame might be the new Louisville, as their better days are behind them. It’s wild that it only takes a season or two and a coaching change to set a team back a decade. Georgetown certainly can relate, but they have veteran players with experience going against an Irish team that is all first- and second-year students. Ed Cooley is a veteran coach with the credentials to turn the Hoyas around. When you match up the talent on the court, the Hoyas have a significant edge. The Irish are a year away from success.
